Location, parking etc. The walk begins and ends at Essen Haus, 514 East Wilson Street, Madison. Parking for the event is available at Madison Gas & Electric parking lot located on Railroad Street, directly across from Essen Haus.
Celebrate Maifest at Essen Haus! Maifest is an annual German family tradition to celebrate Springtime - complete with German Maypole dancers. It's family friendly, free and open to the public. We are excited to partner with Essen Haus by hosting the walk during this festive annual event. During Maifest you will enjoy live entertainmnt by L.A. Do I need to register my children to walk? We encourage teens 16 and over to register and walk, however a parent or guardian must sign a waiver for all walkers under age 18. Walkers under age 16 do not need to register, however you will need to check them in on the morning of the event and sign a waiver for each child under 18.
Can I bring my pet? For the safety of all participants (and for pets), only service animals will be allowed at the event.

What happens if it rains? This is a rain or shine event! If we need to cancel due to severe weather, we will update our website by 8:00 am on the morning of the event.
Can I register on the day of the event? YES! Day of registration will be available beginning at 11:30 am and the registration fee will increase to $30 ($25 if walking with a team).
